MANILA: The Anti-Red Tape Authority (ARTA) reported on Monday that six local government units (LGUs) in Mindanao are now fully compliant with the electronic Business One-Stop Shop (eBOSS).

In a statement, ARTA said the additional eBOSS-compliant LGUs in Mindanao are Davao City, General Santos City, Malaybalay City, Tagoloan, El Salvador City, and Dapitan City.

ARTA said these LGUs that fully established the eBOSS between May 3 to 31 will help the agency achieve its target of 200 LGUs fully compliant with the eBOSS by the end of the year.

eBOSS is a single portal for the renewal and application of business permits implemented by the Department of the Interior and Local Government, the Department of Information and Communications Technology, the Department of Trade and Industry, and ARTA.

A fully established eBOSS should have these four services: an online system to receive electronic business applications through a Unified Application Form; issuance of electronic tax bill, Fire Safety Inspection Certificat
e Fee, and Barangay Clearance Fee; capability of issuing electronic versions of permits; and accepting other modes of payment aside from cash.

“This is the call of our President (Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.): we must digitalize to improve the ease of doing business in the country and avoid red tape,” ARTA Director General Ernesto Perez said.

He said ARTA is ready to help LGUs to fully comply with the eBOSS.

Under the Ease of Doing Business and Efficient Government Service Delivery Act of 2018, all LGUs must establish eBOSS by June 17, 2021.

As of June 7, ARTA said there were 36 LGUs that fully established eBOSS.

These include Parañaque, Quezon City, Manila, Valenzuela, Muntinlupa, Navotas, Malabon, Marikina, Pasay, and Mandaluyong in Metro Manila; as well as Batangas City, Balanga City, San Fernando City, Ilagan, Antipolo, Dasmariñas, Bacoor, Carmona, Legazpi City, Bacnotan, Biñan, Calamba, Baguio City, and Baras in Luzon.

Only Lapu-Lapu City and San Roque City in Northern Samar in Visayas have fully compli
ed with the eBOSS; while Mindanao LGUs that fully established the electronic system are Cagayan de Oro, Manolo Fortich, Jasaan, Guinsiliban, Davao City, General Santos City, Malaybalay City, Tagoloan, El Salvador City, and Dapitan.
