The Republic of India has pledged capacity building project for the National Assembly (NA) of Cambodia, and promote women parliamentarians and politicians.
The remarks were made by H.E. Dr. Devyani Khobragade, Indian Ambassador to Cambodia in a courtesy meeting held here on Nov. 7 with Samdech Moha Rathsapheathika Thipadei Khuon Sudary, President of the Cambodian NA.
India will continue to cooperate with Cambodia on training and exchanges in areas of technology, agriculture, education, culture, energy, and preservation of ancient temples, H.E. Dr. Devyani Khobragade said.
Additionally, the Indian Ambassador emphasised that she will encourage and attract more Indian tourists and investors to Cambodia, because many Indians are very interested in visiting Cambodia, especially Hindu-dedicated ancient temples in the Kingdom.
For her part, Samdech Khuon Sudary highly appreciated the Indian Ambassador’s diplomatic mission in contributing to strengthening the relationship between the two countries.
The bilateral cooperation has been strengthened from the leaders in the past to the present, she recalled, stressing that many achievements have be attained from the close ties between both nations, including in the fields of economy, trade, investment, culture, religion, education, national defence, and people-to-people connections.
In the meeting, the two sides praised the development of relations between the two parliaments and noted that the Cambodian and Indian parliaments have supported each other in various inter-parliamentary forums such as APPF, APF, IPU and AIPA.
H.E. Ambassador of India also invited the Cambodian NA president to visit India at an appropriate time.
